First Birthday Party Decorations And Ideas

The great thing about planning for first birthday parties is that the birthday party decorations are often aimed at the parents rather than the child, since they are too young to really grasp the decorations anyway. This may seem a little strange at first, but the truth is that the first birthday party is a celebration for the parents as much as for the baby. As such the birthday party planner has a lot more wiggle room to work with in planning what kind of decorations that they want to use and whether or not to go with the premium themed party ideas (like Sesame Street decorations) or general ones.
The basic decorations are really easy to handle. You can buy bags of birthday balloons, and even a couple of special helium filled 1st Birthday balloons for the main table. Don’t forget to get the birthday themed paper plates, which often feature cartoon animals or congratulatory messages for everyone to enjoy. Party hats and noisemakers are also great birthday party decorations to get, even for someone as young as a one year old child. Don’t forget to have baby pictures and possibly even ultrasound pictures around the room to celebrate the baby’s first year of life and really personalize the party.
Just like with all birthday parties, the cake is really something special for the first birthday party. Once you have found the perfect cake for the event make sure to pick out an adorable candle to go on top of it. Many companies offer special candles specifically for first birthday parties that can be kept as a memento for years to come. When all is said and done it is nice for the parents and child to have a little keepsake of their very first birthday celebration.
